Joy in Strange Places
Here we are. We are talking about how you can choose joy in tough situations.
Here are some examples:
I have a really cute little sister who is almost 4 and she chooses joy in really tough situations. (I mean who expects a 3 year old girl to choose joy in tough situations?) One time she couldn’t get her milk and she just left it behind and looked forward to other fun things. And when I see her choose joy over milk (she really loves milk!) it helps me to see that joy is more important than other things in life.
Like joy is more important than ipads and makeup (that is hard for girls to say).
And I’ll throw this one out for the boys: Joy is more important than video games.
It doesn’t matter how old you are. You can choose joy over some tough spots and you can remember that God is with you and you don’t have to be afraid--because what’s cooler than choosing joy?
When you were young you probably had a dream of what you wanted to be when you grew up and when you’re older and you get a job you didn’t want . . . like being a MAILMAN when what you wanted to be was a POLICE OFFICER and you didn’t get to be one. You can choose to have joy and be thankful that they trusted you to have this job, because if you didn’t work your hardest you wouldn’t have gotten a job at all.
It’s not that hard to choose joy. There are people in the world that are homeless or don’t have money, their lives are hard, but look at them, they aren’t whining and complaining. (I would!)
Okay, now you probably get my point that you can choose joy in tough situations.
Finally, one time I chose joy when my hair was messed up and then my SPECTACULAR mom reminded me to choose joy and that I am pretty no matter what my hair looks like.
