Waiting

Waiting can be challenging, exciting, scary, sometimes even boring. It takes courage, strength and patience, whether you're waiting for a long planned vacation, the birth of a child or test results from your physician . . . as I am now

Trusting and praising God is needed in the waiting period. You are trusting that the vacation will be even better than you could have imaged and praising God for the opportunity to be able to take that trip . . . or trusting that the test results will be normal and thanking God for His peacefulness, healing and comfort.

There is always a waiting season!

While each of us, our country, the entire world, is facing this health crisis and waiting, let us focus on God's word,

But they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
— Isaiah 40:31

During this time of waiting let us spend time with God, taking this opportunity to get to know Him more deeply, to learn to seek Him first, to grow closer to Him, to discover God in new and mighty ways and remember He is with us always!

One of my favorite Christian songs is "Hills & Valleys" by Tauren Wells; I love the line that says,

"When I'm standing on the mountain, I didn't get there on my own;

when I'm walking through the valley, I know I am not alone"

In this valley—and in any difficulties we may be facing right now—may we remember we are not alone. As we climb up the mountain let us keep our eyes on God who we know will bring us through, and when we reach the top remember to give Him all the praise!

Waiting is one of the most important moments in a Christian's walk.  It's a time to be still, reflect, listen for God's voice and direction, a time to worship and give thanks.

I pray that when we step out of this crisis, we will be changed, renewed, on fire for God, having been made aware of His presence in a real and powerful way.

Teach us to wait, Lord!
